Abby is a percheron breed of draft horse that originated in the Perche valley in northern France. Percheron's measure 16-19 hands high and weigh  between 1900 and 2600 pounds. They have been used as battle mounts during the Middle Ages, to pulling stagecoaches, to logging and farm labor...thus the name "work" horse. They are generally black or gray and reputed to be proud, alert and intelligent. Percheron's are known for their strength and graceful style.
